Nueva Vida Skate Ministry (cubA)

Marco and Karen Cuevas founded the Cuban ministry called Nueva Vida Skate in 2019. Since the beginning.Sk8 church has been a supporting partner with Nueva Vida Skate. Sk8 Church has helped this ministry in many different ways, from selling merchandise, to donating gear, to helping purchase daily necessities. In 2017, Marco joined the Steamboat Christian Center mission trip to Cuba. Marco brought the first 2 skateboards to a small town in central Cuba. The following year he and his wife Karen brought another 5 skateboards. That’s when the  Nueva Vida Skate ministry was born. Each year, another group has gone back to support the local church and help grow Nueva Vida Skate. Fast forward to the current day, where there are more than 250 young people attend weekly skate training, as well as hearing about the gospel. Many young people and families have come to the Christian faith because of this thriving ministry. In each crater there is a strong leadership group that includes adult and youth leaders that support all group members. In the past 18 months, Nueva Vida Skate expanded to 4 more nearby towns and is growing daily. Over 150 skateboards and more have been donated and brought to support this ministry. (9/23)
